Commissions
There’s something special about owning a piece that has been made just for you. Whether you’d like a set of mugs in a particular glaze, a larger serving bowl for family meals, or a unique gift for someone important, I’m happy to take on commissions. Each order is shaped by hand in my studio, and no two pieces are ever exactly alike.
What you can commission
Commissions can be as simple as adjusting the size or glaze of an existing design, or as personal as creating something completely new.
The process
- Get in touch: Send me a message with your ideas, including the type of item, glaze preference, and quantities.
- Planning: We’ll discuss what’s possible, confirm pricing, and agree on timings.
- Making: Your commission is carefully made in my studio. Every piece goes through several stages: forming, drying, bisque firing, glazing, and a final firing.
- Delivery: Once your order is finished, I’ll carefully package your pottery and arrange delivery or collection.
Timings
Because each piece is made by hand and goes through a full making cycle, commissions usually take 6–8 weeks to complete. Larger orders may take longer. If you need something for a specific date, such as a wedding or event, please get in touch early to avoid disappointment.
Pricing
Prices vary depending on the size and complexity of the commission. Once I know what you’d like, I’ll provide a clear quote before work begins. A deposit may be required to secure your order.
Why commission a piece?
Commissioning pottery isn’t just about buying something functional — it’s about choosing something personal, made slowly and thoughtfully with you in mind. Every commissioned piece is unique, carrying the subtle variations that come from being handmade. It’s a way of owning something that feels individual, not mass-produced.
